Two key phrases……
1. Delay this marriage- this phrase is significant as all Juliet needs is for the marriage between her and Paris to be delayed for a short amount of time so that she can escape and be with Romeo, but as usual fate is uncontrollable and never on her side and her parents are insisting that she marries Paris as soon as possible.
2. Make the bridal bed in the dim monument where Tybalt lies- Juliet is pretty much saying that if they do force her to marry Paris she will die. In this moment she’s trying to over-dramatize the situation to scare her mother but ironically this event does cause her death in a sense
Whole Significance…..
This quote is important as this marriage does end up putting Juliet with Tybalt (dead). She doesn’t know it yet but shes predicting whats going to happen to her in a future. *gasp*
